Florida

They took my money for years. Now it's 'not covered'?

Paste the denial and the contract language — or type what they said. In a few seconds you get whether the denial reason holds up against your contract and Florida's rules, the appeal to send, the escalation ladder, and the state complaint. No account. Nothing stored.

Free — takes 30 seconds

The denial and the contract.

What broke, what the company or its contractor said, the exact denial reason if you have it, what your contract says about that item and about exclusions, how long you've had the plan, and what you've paid (premiums and the service fee).

Free. Takes a few seconds.

Why this exists

'Lack of maintenance' is a sentence on a ticket. Your receipts are evidence.

Most denials rest on a one-line technician note and a contract nobody re-read. Florida licenses these companies and makes them answer the state. A written appeal that quotes the contract, attaches the receipts and copies the regulator changes the conversation. This writes it.

How it works

Thirty seconds. Then a letter the claims department has to answer.

01

Paste the denial

What broke, what they said, what the contract says, what you've paid. Nothing is saved.

02

See if it holds

The reason against the contract and the law, the evidence that overturns it — in English or Spanish.

03

Appeal and escalate

The appeal, the DFS complaint, the second-opinion script and the small-claims checklist, in the full version.

Plans

Checking the denial is free. The appeal kit is $9.

The free version tells you whether the denial holds and what to attach. The kit writes the appeal, the regulator complaints, the second-opinion script, the cash-in-lieu demand and the small-claims checklist.

Common questions

Is it really free? Is what I paste stored?

The first look is free and nothing you paste is stored, per the tool's own disclaimer. If you want the full write-up, the Appeal Kit is $9 per claim, and there's a $99/month plan for brokerages, counselors and consumer offices. No account is required either way.

They said 'pre-existing' or 'improper maintenance' — is that legit?

Those are the two denial reasons most often overturned, but your contract's own language controls what's owed — this tool cannot promise a result. For 'improper maintenance,' ask in writing for the technician's own report, and gather filter/service receipts, photos, and a second opinion from a licensed HVAC contractor. For 'pre-existing,' pull the home inspection from when you bought the house and any inspection or waiver the plan itself required.

What do I actually put in the appeal letter?

Date it, list the contract number, the item and failure date, and quote the denial reason word for word next to the contract's coverage language. Explain why the exclusion they cited doesn't apply to your facts, attach your evidence, and ask for approval, cash-in-lieu, or a written explanation citing the specific contract section — with a 7–10 day deadline. Say plainly that you'll file a Florida DFS complaint if it isn't resolved. Keep it polite and specific, no insults.

What if they ignore my appeal — what's next?

Go up the ladder: written appeal, then the claims supervisor, then a Florida Department of Financial Services complaint (1-877-693-5236) — DFS forwards it to the company, which must answer in writing. If that stalls, BBB and the Florida Attorney General, then small claims court for disputes up to $8,000 (Florida Courts). For a large claim or a pattern of denials, a Florida consumer attorney may take the case under Florida's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act.

Will this guarantee my $9,000 replacement gets approved?

No — Home Warranty Claim Fighter is not a lawyer, it can be wrong, and it never guarantees payment. Your contract's exact wording controls what's owed, so read it, and for a large claim or repeated denials talk to a Florida consumer attorney.
