Say who's in your household, roughly what you'll earn this year, and whether anything just changed — a job lost, a baby, a move, turning 26. In a few seconds you get whether a subsidy likely applies, what the Florida gap means for you, whether you can enroll today, and where to get free help. No account. Nothing stored.
Free — takes 30 seconds
Who you'd cover, their ages, roughly what the household will earn this year (before taxes), whether anyone has an offer of coverage from a job, and whether anything changed in the last 60 days.
Why this exists
Most working families qualify for a credit that cuts the premium to a fraction, and the kids usually qualify for KidCare. Some adults fall in a gap the state created. Either way, the answer is knowable in a minute, and the help is free — this tells you which you are and who to call.
How it works
Who, ages, about what you'll earn, what changed. Nothing is saved.
Subsidy, KidCare, or the gap — and whether you can enroll today, in English or Spanish.
The official calculators and a free navigator — plus the prep pack in the organization version.
Plans
Nobody should pay to learn they qualify for help. The licence is for the navigator organization, clinic or church that wants its contact on the page and prep packs for every family.
Your navigator's name, phone and appointment link on the page; printable prep packs for every household; a link for your app or newsletter.
For a church, a union local or a community group that wants every family checked before open enrollment ends.
Free for individuals, always. Licence prices in USD, handled by Stripe.
Common questions
This tool can't give you a dollar figure — it's not insurance advice, and it isn't an insurance agent or certified navigator, so it can be wrong. Enter your household and income into the HealthCare.gov 'See plans & prices' preview or the KFF Health Insurance Marketplace Calculator for an actual estimate. Whether you qualify depends on where your income falls against the federal poverty level, so check the current table when you look.
Florida has not expanded Medicaid, so adults without dependent children generally don't qualify for Florida Medicaid no matter how low their income is, and parents qualify only at very low income. That leaves some adults under 100% of the federal poverty level with no Medicaid and no marketplace subsidy — this is the coverage gap (see KFF's brief on it). If you're in it, a free certified navigator can help you look at every option you actually have.
You may qualify for a 60-day special enrollment period if you lost other coverage, moved, married, had a baby, adopted, or lost Medicaid/CHIP (loss of Medicaid/CHIP has had extended windows, so confirm the current rule on HealthCare.gov). Gaining income that moves you out of the coverage gap can also open enrollment under the low-income special enrollment rule. Check your exact deadline at HealthCare.gov's special enrollment page — this tool doesn't set or guarantee it.
Yes — for you as a visitor, it's free, always, and nothing you type is stored. Organizations like navigators/clinics or churches/unions can pay $99/month or $49/month for their own account, but that doesn't change what you pay: nothing.
Undocumented adults can't enroll in the marketplace themselves, but a U.S.-citizen child can still qualify for Florida KidCare or Medicaid, and applying for the child does not affect the parents. Lawfully present immigrants can use the marketplace and may qualify for subsidies even below the usual income floor if they're not eligible for Medicaid. A free certified navigator (English and Spanish, every Florida county) can walk you through this safely — this is not legal, tax or insurance advice.
