Say why — and what the zoned school and the school you want are. In a few seconds you get the route that fits your reason, the deadline, the facts to put in the request, the letter, and what to do if it's denied. No account. Nothing stored.
Free — takes 30 seconds
The reason (be specific), the child's grade, the zoned school, the school you want, the district, whether a sibling attends the other school, your work schedule if it matters, and whether you've already asked.
Why this exists
A sibling, a 6 am shift, a bullying report in writing, a doctor's letter — these are the facts the reassignment committee is allowed to weigh, and most parents write 'we'd prefer' instead. This matches your reason to the right route and writes the request with the evidence attached.
How it works
The reason, the grade, both schools, the district. Nothing is saved.
Open enrollment, hardship, Hope, school of origin — what the district weighs, in English or Spanish.
The letter, the employer and physician templates, the appeal and the checklist, in the full version.
Plans
The free version identifies the route and writes the request. The kit adds the employer and physician templates, the Hope transfer request, the appeal letter and the district checklist.
Every school and kids tool — IEP and 504 letters, bullying reports the school must act on, meals and fee waivers, scholarships, FAFSA, child support estimates.
All prices in USD, handled by Stripe. The route and the basic letter never go behind a paywall.
Common questions
Florida's controlled open enrollment law (Fla. Stat. 1002.31) lets you apply to any public school that has space, but the district sets its own application window and a priority order that must include military dependents, foster children, and children who move due to a court-ordered custody change or a parent's deployment or death. The tool tells you which route fits your reason and drafts the request letter, but it can't promise a seat — the district's posted capacity and priorities decide. This is not legal advice; confirm your district's window with its choice office.
Yes — under the Hope Scholarship law (Fla. Stat. 1002.40), a student who has reported bullying or harassment can transfer to another public school or get a private-school scholarship. You'll need the documented bullying report; if you don't have one yet, the tool's Bullying Report Letter can help you create it. This isn't legal advice, and the tool never names another child in the request.
Choice and magnet windows are fixed, but hardship/special-assignment reassignment is usually available year-round for reasons like childcare, medical need, sibling placement, or safety — check your district's own hardship list. The tool asks about your situation and tells you whether hardship reassignment is the better route than open enrollment. It cannot guarantee approval; the district's criteria control.
The first letter is free; a full kit is $9 per request, and there's a $49/month plan for liaisons, advocates, and churches. Nothing you paste is stored — the tool has no account and keeps no record of your child's information. It is not the school district and can be wrong, so read your district's posted process and ask for decisions in writing.
You can appeal through your district's process, and in some districts to the school board — ask for the denial and the appeal procedure in writing. The tool's letter requests a written decision so you have something to appeal from. It's not legal advice and doesn't guarantee any outcome; your district's posted rules control.
