Free — 20 seconds
The disconnect letter, the door hanger, the email, or the text. If you only have the bill, paste the part that mentions a date.
Paste the notice. In a few seconds you get the clock, the three programs that pay past-due power and water bills in Florida, the rule that protects a home with medical equipment, and the exact words to say when you call the utility. No account. Nothing stored.
How it works
The letter, door hanger, email or text. Nothing is saved.
How many days, what 'on or after' means, and who can pay — LIHEAP, EHEAP, the utility's own fund.
A script for the utility and a hardship statement for the application — in the full version.
Why this exists
Florida has three programs that pay past-due power bills, a rule that protects homes with medical equipment, and utilities that will set up a payment plan if you call before the date. Almost none of that is on the notice. This puts it on one screen.

Common questions
If you're an FPL, Duke Energy Florida or TECO customer, Rule 25-6.105, F.A.C. requires at least 5 working days' written notice before disconnection for nonpayment. The date on your notice is the earliest they can act, not a guarantee, so call before that date to confirm. City utilities and electric co-ops set their own rules, so ask them directly for their written policy.
Tell the utility today that the service is medically essential and ask for their Medically Essential Service program — FPL, Duke and TECO each have one, and it requires a doctor's certification. This changes how and when they can disconnect, but it does not promise that disconnection stops. If the power is already off and someone's health depends on it, call 911.
Yes — LIHEAP (Florida's energy-bill assistance, including crisis help for a shutoff notice, applied for through your county's community action agency), EHEAP if someone in the home is 60 or older (through the Elder Helpline 1-800-963-5337), and the utility's own hardship fund by name — FPL 'Care To Share', Duke 'Share the Light', TECO 'Share'. You can also call 211 for church and Salvation Army emergency funds.
Reading your notice and getting the clock, the programs and the medical-equipment rule is free, and nothing you paste is stored. If you want a written call script and statement, that's $4.99 per notice; organizations like churches, credit unions and agencies can get it for $29 per month.
Ask for a payment arrangement before the disconnect date, and ask whether a pending LIHEAP or EHEAP application puts a hold on disconnection. Get the representative's name and a confirmation number before you hang up. Utility Shutoff Shield is not legal advice and can be wrong — confirm the disconnect date and any hold with the utility by phone.
To Share', Duke 'Share the Light', TECO 'Share'.
