Domestic violence shelters are confidential on purpose

DV shelters do not show up in public finders like 211 or Feeding Florida's Find Food. That is not an accident — it keeps the shelter safe for everyone inside. The hotline is the way in, not a public list.

Be careful with your phone's location

If your phone shares your location, someone may be able to see where you have been. If you can do it safely, consider turning off location sharing before you call or text.

If you have children with you

Families are generally kept together in family shelters, and 211 can tell you which shelters are taking families tonight. No page and no tool can promise you a specific bed — only 211 or the local program can confirm what is actually available tonight.
