How can I compare prices between Publix, Aldi, Winn-Dixie, and BJ's when none of them post prices online

Why these four stores don't show up in price search
Publix, Aldi, Winn-Dixie, and BJ's do not publish their prices online. There is no public price feed for them. That is different from Kroger, which has a live price API, and Walmart, which can show prices through an affiliate feed when it is connected.
What that means for you
If you want to compare a price at Publix, Aldi, Winn-Dixie, or BJ's, you cannot look it up on a website. You have to walk the aisle, or ask someone who did, and read the shelf tag yourself.
- Price per ounce or per unit is usually printed in small type on the shelf tag.
- Store brand and name brand items sit next to each other, but the shelf tag rarely does the comparison math for you.
How to compare by hand
Write down three things for each item: the price, the size (ounces or count), and whether it is the store brand or the name brand. Do this at each store for the same item.
- Divide price by size to get price per ounce or per count.
- Compare that number across stores, not just the sticker price.
- Compare store brand versus name brand the same way.
This works, but it takes time and a calculator, and it is easy to make a mistake by hand.
What GroceryGap does with your own numbers
GroceryGap cannot pull live prices from Publix, Aldi, Winn-Dixie, or BJ's, because those stores do not publish them. Instead, you type in what the shelf says — the price and the size — for each item at each store. GroceryGap then does the math: price per ounce, price per count, store brand versus name brand, and what a swap could save you over a year, based only on the numbers you entered.
For Kroger, GroceryGap can show live prices through Kroger's own price API. For Walmart, it can show prices once the affiliate feed is connected. For Publix, Aldi, Winn-Dixie, and BJ's, it always works from what you type in — never a guess, never an outside number.
What's still unknown
Shelf prices change store to store and week to week, even within the same chain. GroceryGap does not know a Publix, Aldi, Winn-Dixie, or BJ's price unless you type it in from what you saw on the shelf. This page is not financial advice. Always confirm the current price with the store itself before you decide.
What to do next
Use the free GroceryGap tool. Type in the price and size from your own receipt or shelf tag, for the stores you shop. The tool reads your own numbers and does the price-per-ounce, price-per-count, and yearly-savings math for you — no login needed to try it.
