When Do I Apply For A Florida School Scholarship 2025-26

Four scholarships, four different clocks

Florida funds most K-12 students through one of four programs: FES-EO (private school), FES-UA (students with disabilities), FTC, and PEP (home education). They come from different parts of Florida law — FES-EO and FES-UA from Florida Statute 1002.394, FTC from 1002.395, and Hope from 1002.40 — plus the Personalized Education Program provisions for PEP. They do not all open, close, or prioritize applicants the same way.

Why "when to apply" depends on which one fits your child

Each program has its own priority tiers, its own income lines, and its own application window for the 2025–26 school year. A family's household size and income, and a child's grade, current school, and any IEP/504 or diagnosis, all change which program fits — and that changes which window matters to you. Without knowing your situation, no one can tell you your exact dates.

Who you actually apply through

You don't apply to the state directly. You apply through a scholarship-funding organisation. The material behind this guide names Step Up For Students and AAA Scholarship Foundation as the organisations handling Florida's scholarships. Applying costs nothing — no funding organisation should ever charge you a fee.

What "eligible" does not mean

Matching a program's stated rules is not the same as receiving an award. Funding amounts, priority order, and waitlists are decided each year by the state and the scholarship-funding organisations. Nothing here — or from any tool — can promise your child a scholarship.

What this page doesn't cover

This page does not have exact 2025–26 opening or closing dates, or the specific documents each program asks for — those depend on which program fits your child and can change by year. Confirm every date and document list directly with the official funding organisation before you rely on it.

What to do next

FL School Scholarship Finder is free. Describe your household, income, your child's grade, school, and any IEP/504 or diagnosis, and it reads your own numbers to tell you which program — FES-EO, FES-UA, FTC, or PEP — fits, the priority tier your income lands in, roughly what it's worth, the application window, and which funding organisation to apply through. This is not legal or educational advice and it does not guarantee an award — confirm everything with the official agencies and funding organisations.

It is not legal or educational advice, does not apply for you, and does not guarantee eligibility, funding or an award. It is not affiliated with the Florida DOE, Step Up For Students, AAA Scholarship Foundation or any school.
