DoorDash Deactivated You for Fraud? What to Do
Use the free tool — Gig Deactivation Appeal
What "deactivated for fraud" usually means
A DoorDash notice that says "fraud," "suspicious activity," or "account sharing" is usually triggered by an algorithm, not by a person reviewing your whole history. That does not make it less serious — but it does mean the fix is the same: use the review path the notice itself names. Look in the notice for the phrase "Request a review," an in-app Help section, or a support email. Do it as soon as possible and keep the confirmation. Platforms change their own review windows, so the notice you received is the only authority on how much time you have.
The evidence that actually helps
For fraud or suspicious-activity notices, the evidence that matters is:
- Trip or order records
- GPS history
- Bank deposit records
- Photos (of deliveries, pickups, or anything relevant to the flagged activity)
Gather these before you submit the review request, and list them by name in your appeal so the reviewer can find them easily.
What not to do
Do not create a new account under a different name or identity to keep working. Platforms treat that as worse than the original flag, and it usually leads to a permanent ban across the platform. The only path back is the review process named in your notice.
If a background check or consumer report was part of it
If your notice mentions a background check, a consumer report, or names a company like Checkr or HireRight, you have rights under the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act:
- You can get a free copy of the report from the company named in the notice.
- You can dispute anything inaccurate or incomplete with that company.
- The platform must have given you a copy of the report and a summary of your rights before making a final decision.
See CFPB — background checks & your rights. A successful dispute does not guarantee reinstatement — send the corrected report along with your review request. This is general information, not legal advice; for free legal help in Florida, see FloridaLawHelp.org.
Money while you wait
Florida generally classifies transportation network company drivers as independent contractors under Fla. Stat. 451.01, which usually affects eligibility for state reemployment assistance. But FloridaCommerce decides each case, so you can still apply through the FloridaCommerce Reemployment Assistance Service Center. For emergency help, call 211. What to do next
Paste your actual DoorDash notice into the tool. It reads your own words and numbers — not a generic template — and gives you the likely reason, the review path named in your notice, and the exact evidence to attach. Nothing you paste is stored. This is not legal advice; it cannot get you reinstated. Confirm any deadline or process detail with DoorDash directly, since the notice you received is the final authority on what happens next.
