Why don't I qualify for Medicaid in Florida?

Florida has not expanded Medicaid. This means the rules are stricter than in most other states. If you are an adult without dependent children, you generally do not qualify for Florida Medicaid, no matter how low your income is. Parents only qualify at very low income levels.
